Gauges

Hiding a gauge removes it from the map and stops the poller fetching it. Gauges live in the database, so this list is what the poller reads.
Add a gauge
The Bureau publishes no coordinates for any gauge, so this is the one field that cannot be filled in for you. Saving re-fetches and parses the page; if it does not parse, the gauge is not added.
A move writes the latitude, longitude and accuracy of this gauge only. Its readings, photos and daily aggregates are keyed to the gauge, not to the position, so none of them are touched — and no other gauge is either. The previous coordinates are kept for one undo and recorded under Health.

Queue clear. Nothing is waiting.
Nothing reaches the public site unreviewed. Approving publishes the photo and pins it to the level recorded at its capture time.
Upload pipeline
- Type checked by magic bytes, not the file extension — a script renamed .jpg is refused.
- Re-encoded through sharp to 2000px plus a thumbnail, which also destroys anything embedded in the original container.
- Capture date read from EXIF, then every other tag stripped — GPS above all.
- Rate limited per hashed IP. The raw address is never stored.
- Pending by default. Public queries filter on approved.
